NH HB 1205: PROPOSED $5 BILLION ADDED TO PENSION DEFICIT

NH statehouse bill 1205: "Enactment of this bill would delay the 10% reduction for group 1 members (employees & teachers) until full social security eligibility age. This 10% reduction at age 65 has been in place for decades. The bill would cost $37 million and will be paid by increased employer contribution rates over the next 20 years, adding to the $5 billion unfunded pension liability." -New Hampshire Municipal Association (NHMA), 2020

Structural deficits are NOT sustainable.
